Sweet Termi for your time

So the performance shop that i work ar part time is looking to update the logo so we can make stickers and shirts and such for customers who want them. I am kinda in charge of designing the logo but i dont really know design much or what program to use.

Do you guys have any suggestions for application to use (free or cheap works best) on a windows 7 laptop. And maybe some tips or tutorials

Adobe Illustrator.

You can get it for free if you sail the high seas.

If you’re familiar with other Adobe software, like Photoshop, it’s easy to pick up on.

There’s a reason people get paid to do that job. If you don’t hire it out, at least find a shop which makes custom shirts/banners/etc. and sit down with their in-house designer. The money you spend for an hour with him/her will be worth 20 hours of your time fiddling around in Illustrator or Publisher or Photoshop....

It’s nothing personal. I can’t draw worth a flip, but know several people who can (including my wife and both my kids). I’m doing good if I can give them a rough idea and perhaps a color. The true artists start with less than that.

Talent goes a long way when it comes to design.

You’ll want vector based images, so Illustrator would be best. However, CAD programs can export vector files. If you have access to a CAD program you can rough out a design in there.

i know a guy that would do this for you (with pay tho) he does it on the side, but he is still a pro designer. He does it for his day job but has also done a number of things on the side for breweries and stuff. You’d be way better off letting someone do it who can send off files that are printable. I dont think many places are going to accept microsoft paint files.
